Hi there~
I’ve been thinking about surprises lately. Good surprises. Not the kind you see on television and social media every fifteen minutes. I mean the kind that makes you stop and think, Well, look at that. I never saw THAT coming.
More of that, please.
My Higher Self and I have been hanging out lately, and apparently she’s decided I don’t need to know everything in advance anymore. This is new for us. I’ve spent most of my life noticing things, connecting dots and trying to figure out what might be coming next.
Now? Surprise me. Let it find me.
I’m doing my thing. Getting outside. Taking care of my body, mind and soul. Talking to people I love. Writing. Working. Laughing. Helping somebody when I can.
Basically, living.
And maybe that’s the whole thing. I don’t need to spend this chapter of my life preparing for my life. I’m in it.
There’s plenty of heaviness in this physical world, but I believe there are other levels of consciousness available to us right here, right now. Call it higher consciousness, God, Source, presence, love—whatever works for you.
For me, it’s about remembering: It’s available to me now.
Joy is available. Creativity is available. Love is available. Ideas, people and possibilities are available. And when I live from those thoughts, I notice more of them.
Good things are already surprising me. Relationships deepen. People appear. Conversations happen. Ideas wander in. Work finds me in unexpected ways. One little thing leads to another.
And there’s so much less pressure.
I don’t need to hunt down the perfect career, relationship, opportunity or next version of myself and try to figure out how to make it all happen. Thank goodness. That sounds exhausting.
I can participate without pushing. I can imagine without needing to know exactly how imagination becomes reality.
And I will SO leave a little room for life to be cleverer than I am.
What if some of what’s coming is better than anything I would have known to ask for?
Of course, this doesn’t mean sitting on the sofa waiting for the universe to knock the door down. Nope. Go outside. Call your friend. Talk to somebody interesting. Write the thing. Help somebody. Clear a little clutter. Follow what makes your brain light up.
I’m calling myself the Acceptance Queen these days, with a minor royal appointment as the Live-Life-Moment-to-Moment Princess. Apparently my Higher Self sees me as royalty, and maybe I should too.
Damn straight~
I’m not asking her for the itinerary anymore. I’m here. I’m curious. I’m grateful. I’m paying attention. And when I need one of my little AJ shadow talks to get myself out of a darker room, I have one.
No pressure. No grand announcement.
Just the is-ness of it.
Whatever wonderful thing I haven’t imagined yet…
Surprise me. Let it find me.
I’ll be over here living my life, noticing all the cool things that happen when I leave a little more room, scutching over on the couch to enjoy another cuddle from my Universe.
As life moves through us,
Audrey
