Consistency Follows Connection

in Personal Transformation on July 22, 2026

I was fatigued today.

My mind was wandering, and it took me a while to wake up. I could feel the desire to write, but I couldn’t quite sit down and do it.

It had to emerge on its own… between phone calls, texts, talking with Grant, working out, and a trip to the grocery store so we could have Taco Tuesday with our neighbor, Phil.

And somewhere in the middle of this typical day, my writing found me.

Instead of asking myself,
“Have I been consistent?”

I’m asking,

“Have I stayed connected to what I’m creating?”

Consistency follows connection, much more naturally than it follows guilt.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll sit outside with my coffee and write.

That’s not falling behind.

That’s returning to myself.

And every time I return to myself, my writing returns too.

I’m so glad I followed my instincts today.

I was feeling just inspired enough to write out my feelings, journaling what had just moved through me this weekend… et voilà, there was the blog I’d been trying to force.

My takeaway is this:

Consistency follows connection, much more naturally than it follows guilt.

When I stay connected to myself, my writing comes naturally.

My creativity comes naturally.

My life comes naturally.

It’s a much gentler way to create.

And it sounds, feels, and looks a whole lot more like me.

As life moves through us…
